  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 small bowl for cinnamon-sugar
  • 1 (optional) rolling pin
  • 1 pastry brush

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar optional for extra sweetness
  • to taste powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. If you are using brown sugar for added sweetness, mix it in at this stage.
  • Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles as indicated on the packaging.
  • Brush each triangle with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over each piece.
  • Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough towards the point to form a crescent twist.
  • Place the crescent twists on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one for expansion during baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the twists are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the twists to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider including some chopped nuts or raisins along with the cinnamon-sugar filling.
These twists are best enjoyed warm but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
Serve them with a side of cream cheese frosting or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a special treat!
