Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, and mix well until fully combined and creamy.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture, distributing them evenly.
  • In another bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, milk, and baking powder. Stir until just combined; the mixture will be thick.
  • Spoon the cake batter over the strawberries and cream cheese layer in dollops, spreading it as evenly as possible.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the cake is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
  • Optional: Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
