Layer the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture, distributing them evenly.
In another bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, milk, and baking powder. Stir until just combined; the mixture will be thick.
Spoon the cake batter over the strawberries and cream cheese layer in dollops, spreading it as evenly as possible.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the cake is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
