Equipment

  • 1 large pot
  • 1 skillet
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 pasta strainer
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Half used in sauce, half for topping.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley Optional for garnish.

Instructions

  • Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the diced bacon. Cook until the bacon is crispy, stirring occasionally. Once cooked, remove the bacon bits and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper into the cooked beef. Mix well and cook for an additional minute.
  • Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring until combined. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese and half of the cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until melted and creamy.
  • Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss it in the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  • Stir in the crispy bacon bits, reserving a few for topping. Transfer the pasta to serving bowls.
  • Top each serving with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and additional bacon bits. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For a spicy version, feel free to add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some diced jalapeños to the bacon and beef mixture. This recipe is highly customizable; you can add sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra nutrition and flavor. Enjoy your indulgent meal!
