Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or wok
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 spatula or wooden spoon
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups bell peppers, sliced any colors
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste red pepper flakes or sriracha for added heat
  • as needed cooked rice or noodles for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare all ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables. Set them aside.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to break apart any large chunks.
  • Once the beef is cooked, add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to allow the sauce to coat the beef and vegetables evenly.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot over cooked rice or noodles if desired.
