Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper diced (red or green)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 head butter or iceberg lettuce leaves separated
  • optional toppings shredded carrots, chopped green onions, cilantro, and chopped peanuts

Instructions
 

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • Stir in the diced bell pepper, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the bell pepper is tender.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  • To serve, scoop a generous amount of the ground beef mixture into a lettuce leaf. Top with optional toppings as desired.
  • Enjoy your lettuce wraps immediately!

Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter option.
For extra crunch, add crushed peanuts on top.
