Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or frying pan
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 spatula or wooden spoon
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams broccoli florets Steamed or blanched until tender but still crisp.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • salt and pepper To taste.
  • cooked rice For serving (optional).

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Stir well until the cornstarch is dissolved and set aside.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-6 minutes.
  • While the beef is cooking, steam or blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • Once the beef is cooked, add the steamed broccoli to the skillet. Pour in the sauce mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed.
  • Serve hot over cooked rice if desired.

Notes

Feel free to customize with additional vegetables such as bell peppers or snap peas.
For a spicier version, add sliced chili peppers or a dash of chili sauce.
