Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 chef's knife
  • 1 tongs or spatula
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 potato peeler

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Instructions

  • Start by washing and halving the baby potatoes. In a large mixing bowl, combine the potatoes with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika. Toss until the potatoes are well-coated.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned potatoes in a single layer and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the cubed steak, seasoning it with the remaining salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the steak and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes, ensuring the garlic does not burn.
  • Return the crispy potatoes to the skillet and gently toss with the steak and garlic butter until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference; feel free to add more for a stronger flavor.
For extra heat, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes while cooking the steak.
