1 baking sheet
1 parchment paper
1 medium saucepan
1 wooden spoon
1 large mixing bowl
1 spatula
- 8 oz Cheetos, preferably crunchy
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Stir occasionally until the mixture starts to boil, then let it boil for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon if using.
In a large mixing bowl, pour the caramel mixture over the Cheetos, making sure to coat them evenly. Use a spatula to gently mix until all the Cheetos are covered.
Spread the caramel-coated Cheetos evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, stirring once halfway through to ensure even caramelization.
Remove from oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, break apart any clumps and serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
For an added flavor twist, try adding in a handful of nuts or pretzels for extra crunch.
This recipe is ideal for serving at parties or movie nights, adding a fun and quirky twist to traditional snack options.
Ensure the Cheetos are completely coated in the caramel mixture for the best flavor and texture.
