Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 ounce taco seasoning 1 packet
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions for garnish
  • tortilla chips for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions, usually adding some water, and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until creamy and fully combined.
  • Add the cooked taco meat and salsa to the cheese mixture; stir until everything is well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped green onions.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.

Notes

You can customize the dip by adding black beans or corn for extra flavor and texture if desired.
Serve with a side of guacamole or sour cream for an extra tasty addition to your appetizer spread.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
