Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pre-made pie dough store-bought or homemade
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced about 2 cups
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for coating
  • spray as needed butter spray

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir well and set aside to let the flavors meld for about 10 minutes.
  • Roll out the pie dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 4-inch circles. You should have about 12 circles in total.
  • Take a circle of pie dough and place a spoonful of the apple filling in the center.
  • Fold the dough over the apple filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.
  • In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for coating.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with butter spray.
  • Place the sealed apple pie bombs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. Lightly spray the tops with the butter spray.
  • Air fry the bombs for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. You might want to flip them halfway through cooking for even browning.
  • Once cooked, immediately toss the warm churro bombs in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs warm!

Notes

For a twist, you can add a sprinkle of nutmeg to the apple filling for extra flavor.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for an indulgent treat.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, and reheat in the air fryer to retain crispiness.
